A husband shot dead his wife and daughter in a leisure centre near a swimming pool in Spalding Lincolnshire this morning.
Lance Hart, 57, is believed to have used a shotgun to kill Claire Hart, 50, and their 19-year-old daughter Charlotte, before turning the gun on himself.
Officers and paramedics battled to save the two women who they found gravely injured at around 9am on Tuesday. Mr Hart was already dead, and no shots were fired by police.
Investigators raided the family home in Moulton, where one neighbour described Mr Hart as “always caring” and a “very nice guy.”
Neighbours say the Hart family had just sold their house and were planning on downsizing to a bungalow...
The resident, who gave his name as Peter, said:
Another neighbour described the Harts, who are believed to have got married in 1990, as the “loveliest couple ever”.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said:

“Lance worked as a delivery driver for a builders’ merchants - we’ve had quite a bit of stuff from them - but he was always caring and would come around afterwards to see whether we could carry stuff.
“Last time I spoke to him, he had put the house on the market because they were hoping to downsize, buy somewhere in the village. He was a very nice guy, he went out of his way to be helpful so it comes as a great shock.

The woman, who did not wish to be named, said:
“They were an absolutely lovely family.UK Mirro
“They were the loveliest couple ever. We don’t know them well but wave to them when we see them.
“I can’t imagine why they have raided that house. They had three kids, two boys and a girl.”‘The house is up for sale but I can’t imagine they would have left without saying goodbye.”
