Unknown men kill woman, daughter in Edo

A 28-year old woman identified as Itohan Enagbare and her four- year old daughter, Iwinosa, have been murdered in Benin City, Edo State.

They were killed by assailants at their No 2 Osaze Street, off Dumez Road, residence at about 1:00pm on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses said the woman and her daughter were stabbed to death while a little baby of the victim was locked in the bedroom.

The Nation gathered that the assailants stormed the victim’s residence in the afternoon and dragged her downstairs where they stabbed her.

The eyewitnesses said the daughter was killed because she was crying loudly before they escaped.

Sympathizers were seen at the residence, while the husband of the victims, Mr. Enagbare urged the police to fish out killers of his wife and daughter.

Policemen from the forensic department were seen at the crime scene, collecting specimen for analysis.However, it could not be ascertained if the killings were related to the renewed cult war in Benin City.

At least five persons have been killed in different parts of Benin City since the cult war began.
