Lagos
State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), on Wednesday approved the
appointment of four new high court judges for the state.
According
to a statement issued by Mrs. Grace Alo, spokesperson for the Lagos
State Judiciary, the newly appointed judges would be sworn-in on Friday.
The
statement further disclosed that the approval followed the
recommendation of the National Judicial Council headed by the Chief
Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mukhtar.
The judges are – Mrs. Iyabo Akinkugbe, Mrs. Serifat Sonaike, Mr. Abdulfattah Lawal and Mr. Abisoye Bashua.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the appointment brings to 54, the number of judges in the state judiciary.
