Jose Mourinho is ready to divulge his guilty secret. It is one he kept all season, as he accrued Football Association fines totalling £26,000 for various outbursts against the English game.
“My wife doesn’t know,” he reveals
with a smile. “The club pay the fines and they come out of my wages. She
doesn’t care about football,” he laughs.
Mourinho is back to his role as ‘The Happy One’ he took on upon his
return to the Premier League last season. He admits he spent the second
half of the season in a bad mood as the FA fines kept coming – but he
insists he will not take a vow of silence for the forthcoming campaign.Mourinho passionately believes he can improve English football if the authorities listen to him, rather than attempt to shut him up. He wants the standard of refereeing to improve and claims English clubs competing in the Champions League should be given more help by the Premier League.
Chelsea had to play Liverpool at Anfield three days before the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Atlético Madrid
